The district has a number of fine bowling greens, and golfers will find three challenging 18 hole golf courses only minutes away by car, in Stranraer, Port Patrick and Glen Luce. The open championship course at Turnberry is 30 miles away.

Culzean castle

Culzean castle is only a 45 minute drive away and offers a fabulous day out for all the family. With beautiful woodland walks, children’s adventure playground, botanical gardens and magnificent swan pond. Culzean is a breathtaking escape from the world. Why not take a look around the castle and enjoy the stunning views across the sea. Grab a memento from the visitor centre and a bite to eat in the restaurant or simple take a picnic along.
