As a result of a Gulf stream drift the area has a mild climate, which allows for the number a glorious gardens that the area has to offer. Ardwell, Castle Kennedy, Glenwhan , Dunskney, and Logan Botanical Gardens are all fine examples of such.
Ardwell
Surrounding a private 18th century country estate house Ardwell Gardens is a naturally unspoilt and idyllic location, around 10 miles south of Stranraer with beautiful views over Luce Bay.

Castle Kennedy
Romantically situated, the Castle Kennedy Gardens are surrounded by water and comprise 75 acres of terraced earthworks and magnificent avenues. Described as ‘one of the showpieces of Galloway’ this is one of Scotland’s most well-known historical gardens.

Glenwhan
Filled with seasonal blooms, exotic plants and rare species with gentle footpaths that meander through the variety of habitats, Glenwhan Gardens are a unique and lovely place. Described as one of the best newly created gardens in recent times the story of Glenwhan’s development is certainly inspiring.

Dunskey Garden

Logan Gardens

Logan House Gardens
This Victorian woodland garden features champion trees, immaculate sweeping lawns, pathways that meander through ancient shrubberies and a majestic monkey puzzle avenue.
